Zacharias Manuel de la Rocha – Zack, föddes 12 januari 1970. Sedermera sångare i Rage Against the Machine. Ett ganska hårt och politiskt band. Rap metal skulle vissa säga men det låter ju så himla töntigt. Dagens låt ”Killing in the name” är en direkt reaktion på frisläppandet av poliserna som misshandlade Rodney King och de efterföljande kravallerna. Rasism. Tom Morello – gitarrist i bandet – kom på riffet när han skulle lära en elev om drop-D-stämning på gitarr. Samma kväll skrev de ihop låten i replokalen. De la Rochas hårda text om rasistiska poliser … ”Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses”, med inte mindre än sexton ”Fuck your” och ett avslutande ”Motherfucker!” var förstås kontroversiell. I denna live-version inleder Zach låten med att citera Eldridge Cleaver – författare, aktivist och en tidig ledare av The Black Panther Party – ”They use force, to make you do, what the deciders, have decided you must do.”
